Litigation: Bruce Pruitt-Hamm, an attorney with 30+ years of experience, has been recognized with the highest rating by the national lawyer-rating service, Avvo.com. Graduating near the top of his class from the University of Washington School of Law in 1994, he has litigated over one thousand cases across various legal domains.
He has served as a Guardian ad Litem in family and guardianship cases and as a pro tem judge. From 1996 to 2006 he served as Special Assistant Attorney General for CPS in Stevens County, handling dependency and parental rights termination cases. He also has experience with probate, guardianship, estate planning, elder law and assorted other civil litigation matters.
Mediation: Bruce has also served as a mediator, graduating from the Alternative Dispute Resolution program of the University of Washington School Of Law in 1994 in its first class. He has been involved in mediation and conflict resolution since the mid-1970s and has provided mediation training with his wife Janis since the late 1980s, when they both served as officers of the Mediation Consortium of Washington (now he Washington Mediation Association)..
Collaborative Practice: Bruce is a founding member of the Spokane County Collaborative Professionals and was trained and certified in collaborative law in 2007. He is a member of the International Association of Collaborative Professionals and King County Collaborative Law.
Social Justice and Nonprofits: Bruce has been active in nonprofit work in leadership roles as Director with the Mike Yarrow Peace Fellowship; Chair of the Western Washington Fellowship of Reconciliation and served for about 10 years on the Board of the Washington Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC). He was also President of the Stevens County Bar Association for 6 years before moving back to Seattle.
